Day-2 destination :1

We started our second day early with some high tea. We packed our caps, sunglasses, and waterbottles and began our travel in a taxi.

Destination 1:The Pratapgarh fort

To reach the fort we had to walk uphill (which was tiring). The entry was free of charge. There we booked a guide to inform us about the making of the fort. 

We got to know that it was built by Shivaji Maharaj in 1656. It is believed that Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaja was blessed with a shining sword at the temple of Goddess Bhavani here. And some more interesting facts.

Here we also drank some refreshing beverages.

I saw this place when I was searching for tourist points in Mahabaleshwar. It was beautiful to see such an old fort filled with greens all around. 

When you continue walking on that trail you eventually come to a garden. This garden was full of colorful flowers. 

There was also a big statue of Shivaji Maharaj on a horse holding a sword there. Around this statue, was a sort of garden filled with beautiful flowers. We clicked a lot of selfies and photos. 

It was a cloudy day. So, the atmosphere was perfect- not warm at all. We were able to enjoy ourselves without filling uncomfortable. Then we got into our cab and we were off for destination two for the day!
